Foundation

The Ojai Valley Community Hospital Foundation is the registered owner of the hospital. The Foundation is run by a Board of Directors whose responsibilities include oversight of the facility and management, stewardship for future planning, community interaction, and assistance in fundraising efforts.

Facility Information

The Ojai Valley Community Hospital is a non-profit, community-based acute care facility dedicated to serving the 35,000 plus residents of the Ojai Valley.

Our 103-bed facility, which includes a continuing care center, is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and licensed by the California Department of Health Services. In addition we also operate a primary care clinic in the Ojai Valley -- The Oak View Family Practice Clinic.

We provide inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing services for mostly primary and secondary care needs. In addition we operate a 24-hour standby emergency room facility.

Our staff is committed to providing exceptional care and comfort to each patient within our facility. Our highly trained staff of physicians, nurses, management, and volunteers work closely together to ensure the best in health care services.

History

The hospital was built in 1959, and was initially owned by a small group of investors. Over the last four decades the hospital ownership has changed hands several times between various corporate entities.

In October of 2000, a group of local citizens purchased the hospital, through the existing Foundation, and established it as a non profit organization, owned by the local community.
